A beautiful, round, blue-green Supernova turquoise stone is set in an 18k yellow gold bezel, atop a heavy sterling silver band. There are silver bars and delicate 18k gold balls on either side of the stone. This is my favorite color of turquoise - somewhere between green and blue. This stone measures 13 mm and has a small line of matrix off to one side. The lack of much matrix and unusual color makes this a little bit different than most turquoise rings.

***Supernova turquoise is a fairly recently found turquoise. It is from Esmeralda Co. in Nevada and was first made available to jewelers in 2021. Turquoise was one of the first gems to be mined. It gets its blue color from a combination of copper and aluminum. Turquoise is an alternate birthstone for December. Associated with the throat chakra, turquoise has long been considered a protective stone by many different cultures.***
