Green Turquoise and Peridot Pendant in Sterling and 18k Gold
Green Turquoise and Peridot Pendant in Sterling and 18k Gold
An earthy green turquoise that looks like a scene at dusk, with ironstone forming mountain peaks at the bottom, and speckled with golden spots. It is paired with a sparkly, faceted peridot and set in sterling silver. The ball accents and bail are 18k gold and coordinate so nicely with the turquoise. The pendant measures 1 7/16-inches, (36 mm), from the top of the bail to the 3 gold balls at the bottom of the stone. It hangs from an 18-inch, oxidized sterling rolo chain.
***Turquoise was one of the first gems to be mined. It gets its blue color from a combination of copper and aluminum, but the green is formed when there is a high concentration of iron. Associated with the throat chakra, turquoise is thought to aid in communication of the truth. It has long been considered a protective stone by many different cultures. It is one of the birthstones for December.***
***Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occur in only one color. The intensity and tint of the green depends on the amount of iron contained in the crystal structure. The birthstone for August, peridot has been considered as a protector against negative emotions. It is also thought of as an energizing stone.***
