Green Sapphire and Pearl Pendant in 18k Gold and Sterling Silver
Green Sapphire and Pearl Pendant in 18k Gold and Sterling Silver
An unusual, rose cut, olive green sapphire is set in an 18k gold bezel with a sterling silver backing for a pretty, little pendant. The bail and simple ball below the stone are 18k gold, as well. The unusual colored sapphire looks like it has moss growing inside of it and glows from the back. I've added a pretty, slightly golden pearl that hangs from a gold loop on the chain. The entire pendant, from the top of the bail to the bottom of the little ball, measures 1-inch, (25 mm). It hangs from an 18-inch oxidized sterling cable chain and looks great on its own or layered with your other favorite pendants. (I usually layer mine with a pink sapphire pendant and a tiny strand of sparkly pyrite beads.)
***Sapphire is a variety of corundum, one of the few gemstones that naturally occur in every color of the rainbow. All colors of corundum are called sapphire with the exception of red, which is ruby. Like pink sapphire, green sapphire is related to the heart chakra.***
***Pearl is the birthstone for June.***
